BIOGRAPHY: ELIKA TRIFONOVA PORTNOY EXECUTIVE PRODUCER AND ACTOR

While in the finance industry, Elika Portnoy co-hosted over 15 episodes of International Investor, a syndicated cable television show. Recently, she has made the transfer to the movie industry. After appearing in "Tangent", "Enduring Freedom", "Sleather", "Thunderstruck" and "Close Shave", Elika started Mutressa Movies in Boston in 2007 and soon thereafter produced her first feature movie "Tricks of a woman". The movie was selected to open the ANGEL FILM AWARDS - Monaco International Film Festival in December of 2008.

Previously Elika has also done some fashion modeling and appeared in different magazines, including most recently the December 2007 issue of Vogue. While modeling, she has been represented by "Award" and "Star Casting" in Washington DC, "Expectation" in Switzerland and "Bulgar-Reklama" in Bulgaria. Her theater experience in Bulgaria includes "The birds' hills", "Minister's wife" and "Snowhite" at Theater Zhar.

Her finance experience includes managing $220 million of private equity funds in Latin America and Europe for the International Finance Corporation (IFC), a member of the World Bank Group, in Washington DC. This included investments and structuring of new funds, restructuring problem funds and making co-investments alongside other investors. She organized IFC's first private equity conference, which created a network of investors, entrepreneurs and fund managers. While at the IFC, she also separately started a biotech company that she ran and sold within a year of its formation.

She has a finance degree from George Mason University. She studied financial derivatives at Georgetown University, Washington, DC, and international trade and policies at St. Peters College, Oxford University, England. She is also a member of Mensa.

She studied singing at Berkelee School of Music. She also studied modern ballet at the Boston Conservatory and her showcase was by Eliza Monte.

She loves skiing, water-skiing, traveling and belly-dancing. She was awarded the runner-up in the Miss Bulgaria Beauty Pageant, and she has won 3rd prize in the national competition for marksmanship in Bulgaria.

She is fluent in Bulgarian, English, German and Spanish and has a good command of Portuguese, Serbian, Russian, Italian and Greek.
