Logline:

Life isn't always just black and white: sometimes its full of colour.

Synopsis:

Told through a series of flashbacks, montage and linear story telling scenes, the short film script "Splinter" is a modern day experimental action / adventure story set in Paris and its neighbouring suburbs. It is the tale of two parents-to-be on the verge of the birth of their child, and what happens when the prospective father (whilst working in his restaurant) is made an offer he can't refuse by a mysterious man named Duvall. With his family is threatened, our hero is blackmailed into picking up a package, currently in the hands of nightclub owner Chereau. With no way to turn, Chereau is met and the package is collected but sadly, chaos ensues with ultimately only one possible outcome and Death, becomes illuminated.

Inspiration:

Inspiration for the script came from Dean’s brother Simon and his love of wearing different colour variations of the same t-shirt; and his friend and fellow creative Scott Richardson.
