Italian International Actress and TV Presenter
Antonella is a strong woman. A woman that made it through the tough entertainment world thanks to her abilities, together with an extremely kind but determined character, which allowed her to obtain prominent roles both in television, and in cinema. It isn’t an easy world, Antonella says several times. The temptation to choose the easier road, such as accepting the advances from the ‘important actor’ at the moment, are always knocking on the door. Instead Antonella decides to pursue the harder road. Of course you would say, having a perfect body, a breathtaking face, and piercing eyes, aren’t does the perfect greeting card for the entertainment world? Yes, but it is not enough. It’s not enough to be beautiful, neither in Italy nor in the USA, where she studies acting from time to time. Facing the entertainment world requires preparation, studies, dedication, self sacrifice, as Antonella says. If, in fact, after this tough climb you manage to bring out a talent, here’s how you can achieve satisfaction, earned with sweat and effort, not given away by anyone. Antonella begins as model, and gets noticed. She works for it, studies, and tries to act. Beginning with appearances in various events connected with the entertainment world, such as the FantaFestival ( 2003-2011), Il Premio Internazionale della Fotografia Cinematografica Gianni di Venanzo (2004-2011), the Roma Film Festival and many others, year after year, up to the Grand Gala of the 64º Festival of Sanremo 2014. Great at hosting, able to attract attention not only with her beauty, but also with her intelligence, allows her to undertake the television career hosting the tv program “Ciak si gira” from 2002 until now, TV format dedicated to the cinematographic production that underlines her passion for the big screen, with various interviews with world famous actors and directors. Simultaneously, she devotes herself to theatre, going on stage with two musical: Vampiri (2004) directed by Bruno Maccallini, and Pulcinella (2008) directed by Lino Moretti, in the thrilling role of Lara Croft. Antonella doesn’t hold back, not even facing the hardest challenges. Just like this she arrives on the big screen in 2002 with “Apri gli occhi e sogna” by Rosario Errico, followed by several talented directors, including Lamberto Bava in “The Torturer”, horror movie in 2005. But it’s right in 2005 that makes the headlines for the role in Aurelio Grimaldi’s movie “ L’educazione sentimentale di Eugenie”, based on De Sade’s literary works. Hard movie, “uncomfortable”, but that Antonella sees as a new challenge to overcome, without doubts. And her ability emerges. Different from many others before her, she’s not consigned to a ‘comfortable genre’, but proceeds with her career with challenging feature films, and short films. In 2006 she works with Paolo Sorrentino in “L’amico di famiglia“, in 2007 again with Rosario Errico in “Ballerina”. Continuing year after year in both commercial movies (such as the thriller Night of the Sinner in 2009, and in the horror Bloody Sin in 2011), and challenging films such as “Bellerofonte” (fantasy directed by Domiziano Cristopharo in 2012). Not to miss anything, Antonella acts in different successful TV Series, such as Maresciallo Rocca, il bello delle donne, Distretto di Polizia, Notte prima degli esami ‘82, Le due leggi, and Il restauratore 2. Despite the hard work, and the challenges facing the future projects (Feel the dead, upcoming english TV series, “Il Gatto e la Luna”, comedy project) Antonella doesn’t forget the outside world, the greatest problematics of our times. She actively acts to increase awareness on topics such as femicide, one of which she feels closer to, probably because equipped with such empathy towards the women that are at risk of living this terrible experience. She is also chosen to be part of the Angel Film Festival 2017’s jury, hosted in Monte Carlo, dedicated to award the best films dealing with peace and nonviolence. Definitely a current issue nowadays. What else to say, Antonella we, from Free Magazine, wish you to succeed in continuing this extraordinary life that you are pursuing, a great example for all of the girls that dream the entertainment world, without the sparkle of the paillettes that blinds, but with the passion that burns like a fire.
