She now resides in the Cuban countryside with her beloved but fragile husband. She experiences many difficulties whilst working with peasant men (guajiros), in the cane fields. Her rival is a presumptuous cane cutter who is a champion in the field. She tries to use every possible means to defeat her rival to win the Russian manufactured automobile “Lada“.
