Sumathy Ram Award Winning Writer-Director

Sumathy Ram’s directorial debut “VISHWA THULASI”, an award-winning classic Indian feature film, was preceded by her studies of English Literature, poetry writing, and musical lyrics.

During the past year and currently, Sumathy has embarked on a series of collaborative projects with 3-time GRAMMY Award Winner, musician-composer RICKY KEJ. Their musical partnership began with a song-show titled LAJJAWATI: A LOVE STORY FROM INDIA, presented at the 2023 Jaipur Film Festival, for which Sumathy assumed the roles of Lyricist, Creative Producer, and Co-Producer.

As creative co-producer, Sumathy was a part of Ricky Kej’ team for the song in the music video LIFE Song for UNICEF, a plea for global harmony and environmental responsibility. The French/English version of LIFE song was presented and unveiled by UNESCO at its Paris headquarters by early June 2024.

Sumathy also produced Ricky Kej’ EKAM, a two-city concert tour in Mumbai, North India, and Bengaluru, South India. Sumathy and Ricky Kej are currently preparing for an hour-long music album that will commemorate Mahatma Gandhi, the father of India.

Currently in progress, Sumathy Ram’s second feature, titled “LAJJAWATI”, is a classic story of love and destiny set in pre-independence 1940’s India. Sumathy’s goal is to create her multiple award-winning project “LAJJAWATI” as a masterpiece in the genre of Historical Romance, an Indian-themed English musical Film, an enchanting and timeless work of art intended for a Global Audience.
