He brings a thoughtful perspective to screenwriting, garnering awards from around the world as the co-writer of "Halfway Game" and "Hearts & Mimes". “HALFWAY GAME” Written by PETER HERLAN & STEPHEN KRITER (GENRE: Romantic-Comedy) LOGLINE: Peter is a good guy trying to find love, but a bad picker… SHORT SYNOPSIS: After striking out in Hawaii, Peter forms an unexpected new friendship with Samantha, a young lady of the night and an aspiring singer. Samantha imparts insight and wisdom on Peter realizes that love was sitting right in front of him the entire time, his client Carol. But now Carol is leaving to run Dole Philippines, so he has a choice to make, keep striking out with the wrong ones, or chase the one who is meant to be. STORY OUTLINE: Peter (30s) is awarded a dream account, Dole Foods, by his best friend and boss, Steve, which requires him to travel to Hawaii on a regular basis. Peter thinks it’s a good idea to bring each new girlfriend to Hawaii with him on business. The flights there are great, everyone plays the United Airlines' “Halfway to Hawaii” game on the plane, but they never fly the 2nd half of the flight home together. It's pure comedy when Cami, the “Party Girl” that gets a little too wild and he is forced to send her home early. Then there is Wendy, the “Overachiever” that pressures Peter into taking on the big waves at Pipeline and opts to leave early after he is pummeled by the rough seas and ends up looking worse than the Andy Stilzer in 40-Year-Old Virgin as his chest hair is ripped out in patches from the surfboard wax. Finally, along comes Tanya the “Powerful Woman”, a corporate lawyer, the perfect catch. Except she sees that Peter’s perfect match is his client, Carol. But Peter being oblivious to this leaves “Powerful Woman” with no choice but to cut him loose. During all this, Peter forms an unexpected friendship with Samantha, a very insightful aspiring singer and "working girl" that doesn’t miss much. She encourages Peter to chase the love of his life, but Peter finds out it’s too late, Carol is on her way to run operations at the Dole Foods plant in the Philippines. But Peter prevails as he races to catch Carol’s flight for his next life’s journey.
