BIO: My name is David. I am 20 years old and I live in Bucharest. I am a student at Screenwriting, in the third year. My passion for writing began when I was in my eight grade, at school. It persisted and somehow I managed to get into the Film School in Bucharest. I like very much sports, especially football, but I also played volleyball, in my teenage years. I like to read. My favourite book is Gulliver’s Travels by Jonathan Swift, but I have a lot of other favourites. My favourite thing, of course, are movies. I watch movies almost everyday and this passion started way back, in my childhood years. From Disney movies to action-packed thrillers, I was fascinated by every movie that I saw. Years went by, I grew up and I watched the classics and I was mesmerized by their power and tone that they had. To say a title, my favourite movie of all time is Back to the Future. My dream is to make and write movies. I want to deliver to the world great ideas and stories that shape people and move them. If I write or make a movie that will change one people’s life, than my job as a screenwriter is done with that project. “BLOCKAGE” Short Script Written by DAVID DOBRE (Romania) Short Script (Genre: Comedy) LOGLINE Four people, that don’t know each other, are trapped in an elevator, only to discover new things about themselves. STORY OUTLINE: Script Summary – One morning, Robert, Raul, Silvia and Georgeta find themselves stuck in the elevator. Robert, a young boy, starts to feel dizzy and falls down on the ground. Silvia and Georgeta start to help him. Raul isn’t interested about Robert’s situation and starts to pull the elevator doors apart. This thing infuriates Silvia and starts to tell Raul about his contribution. The man defends himself, by saying that her and Georgeta ( who is an old lady ) are enough for the boy. Raul asks Robert ( who has a crutch and gypsum ) why is he there. He replies that he needs to go to school, otherwise he will be expelled. Raul succeeds in pulling apart the elevator doors and he finds out that the concrete covers almost the entire door, only a little space left at the bottom. This thing makes Robert dizzy again. Silvia starts to scream, but without success. She tells Raul to go between the concrete and the threshold of the elevator, but he refuses to do so. Both of them start to argue about the fact that none of them are capable of anything. Georgeta separates them. She says that none of this is good for the boy, who is in a bad condition. Raul says that he is sick of Robert and she should disenchant him or anything. Georgeta does this to Raul’s surprise. She puts a hand on Robert’s shoulder and silence covers them all. The elevator starts to go down. The four people arrive at the ground level. Raul is in shock. He looks at Georgeta and says that ,she was the solution “. He helps Robert to get up. Silvia and Georgeta smile victoriously. Raul stays in the elevator still in shock, with an ironic smile on his lips. |
